Amritsar freezes at minus 0.2 as cold wave continues across Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh, Dec 24: The Sikh holy city of Amritsar was the coldest place in the plains of Punjab and Haryana with the minimum temperature there being recorded at minus 0.2 degrees on Thursday.
Weather officials here said that the minimum temperature in Amritsar was four degrees below average. The city recorded a high of 17.8 degrees.

Cold wave conditions continued across Punjab and Haryana on Thursday.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 17.4 degrees while the minimum temperature was recorded at six degrees.
In Haryana, Narnaul town recorded a low of 3.5 degrees, three degrees below average. Hisar and Karnal towns recorded a minimum temperature of 5.5 degrees respectively.
Weather officials said that foggy conditions could prevail at some places in the region in the next 48 hours while the weather would largely remain dry in the same period.
