Amritpal Singh gives cops the slip again, his mentor untraceable

Pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh and his mentor Palapreet Singh had reportedly dodged the Punjab police yet again.

The police had last week launched a massive search operation for Amritpal and his aides. The car in which Amritpal Singh has been travelling ran past a police checkpost before it stopped at a Gurdwara in Mehtiana. The occupants of the vehicle are said to have abandoned the car near the Gurdrwara Bhai Chanchal Singh in Marnaian village and fled.

The police however managed to detain two of his aides during the search operation. Those detained were following the Innova car.

The police have launched a search operation, while the village has been cordoned off. Checkpost and barricades have been raised on the roads to nab the suspects.

The Punjab Police launched the search operation after Amritpal Singh's followers attacked the Ajnala police station last month. They had stormed the police station seeking the release of one of their men, Lovpreet Toofan. He was incidentally released following the attack.

Once the operation was launched, Amritpal has managed to dodge the police on several occasions. First he slipped out of Jalandhar and since then he has been switching both his vehicles and appearances.

There had also been reports that Amritpal may have already slipped into Nepal. India has sounded off Nepal about this development and advised that the country remains on high alert to prevent him from flying out.

Since the start of the operation, Amritpal has been spotted in different appearances in several places. He was seen in Haryana and latest in Delhi.

An undated CCTV footage showed Amritpal walking at a Delhi market wearing dark glasses. Also seen in the video was Papalpreet Singh.

The Punjab Police have however not commented on the footage. The Delhi Police on the other hand are probing to find out if the man seen in the video is Amritpal Singh.
