Amit Shah writes to Law Commission for One Nation One Election

New Delhi, Aug 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah wrote a letter to the Law Commission for One Nation One Election. The party is in favour of conducting the Assembly polls and Lok Sabha polls together.

Bhupender Yadav, BJP on One Nation One Election said,'' We have notified Law Commission about our party's support for simultaneous elections in country. It would reduce expenses significantly & the repetitive use of election machinery. Necessary amendments to Constitution should take place.''

On the other hand, many opposition parties are opposing the move. Last week the law commission had sought a suggestion from various parties over the same. These parties included Mamata Banerjee's party TMC, AIADMK, Left and Goa forward party.
