Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Prayagraj to join the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025 celebrations, marking his participation in one of the most significant spiritual events in India. Welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other state cabinet members at the Prayagraj airport, Shah's visit was a part of the spiritual journey that draws millions of devotees each year.

Visit to Key Temples and Akharas
Following his dip, the Union Home Minister proceeded with a visit to prominent spiritual locations in Prayagraj. He visited the Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and Abhayvat, before heading to the renowned Juna Akhara, where he met with Maharaj and other saints. Shah enjoyed lunch with the saints of Juna Akhara, continuing the religious and cultural exchange.
His itinerary also included visits to Guru Sharananand Ji's Ashram, where he met Guru Sharananand Ji and Govind Giri Ji Maharaj, as well as a meeting with the Shankaracharyas of Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka. After a day filled with spiritual engagements, Shah will depart for Delhi in the evening.
The Ongoing Mahakumbh Celebrations
The Mahakumbh Mela, a festival held once every 12 years, has already seen a massive turnout of over 110 million devotees who have taken the holy dip since it began on January 13, 2025, as per ANI reports. The event, which will run until February 26, is expected to host over 45 crore visitors, making it one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world.
As political leaders and spiritual figures continue to visit Prayagraj, the Mahakumbh remains a symbol of India's deep-rooted spiritual traditions, offering a unique opportunity for devotion, purification, and unity among millions of people.
