Amit Shah Takes Dig At Rahul Gandhi On Reservation: 'Will Not Let You...'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed Congress and National Conference (NC) leaders for their stance on reservations, assuring that the quota for marginalised groups such as Paharis, Gujjars, and Dalits will remain intact.

Speaking at a rally in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, Shah accused Congress of attempting to eliminate these reservations, referencing Rahul Gandhi's statement in the US where he reportedly said that Paharis no longer need them.

Shah remarked, "Congress, NC has said that we will reconsider the reservation given to Pahari, Gujjar Bakarwal, Dalit, Valmiki, OBC communities. Rahul Gandhi goes to America and says that now they have developed, now they do not need reservation. Rahul Baba, we will not let you remove reservation."

He firmly stated that the reservations would stay and rejected NC president Farooq Abdullah's demand to reinstate Article 370, saying, "no one can bring it back."

On the issue of terrorism, Shah took a tough stance, vowing that under Prime Minister Modi's government, no terrorist or stone pelter would be released in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasising that no talks with Pakistan would occur until terrorism is fully eradicated.

He pledged instead to engage with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, referring to them as "lions," rather than negotiating with Pakistan.

Shah criticised the NC-Congress alliance for allegedly supporting the release of terrorists and stone pelters.

He dismissed Farooq Abdullah's comments about the potential resurgence of terrorism in the Jammu hills, promising instead to "bury terrorism deep inside the earth."

Regarding border security, Shah assured residents that the government has built underground bunkers for their protection but added that soon there would be no need for them, as no one would dare fire from across the border.

He stated, "If they fire a bullet, we will respond with a shell."
