Modi foreign policy and defence stance praised by Amit Shah at NDA conclave

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure will be remembered for a firm foreign policy and a defence policy centred on national honour. Speaking at an NDA conclave in New Delhi marking 12 years in office, Shah noted Modi became India’s longest continuously serving elected prime minister.

Shah said national honour stayed central in defence planning. Shah also said Modi kept India’s interests first during major global crises. Shah was speaking at a two-day NDA conclave at Bharat Mandapam.

The conclave marked 12 years of the NDA in power. It also noted Modi becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister. Modi crossed Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of 4,398 days on Wednesday. Nehru’s 1947 to 1952 period led an interim government. Elections were held from 1952.

Modi foreign policy and defence policy, Shah says

Shah said Modi led calmly through crises like the Doklam incident. Shah also cited the Russia-Ukraine war and the tension between the US and Iran. Shah said decisions were taken with composure during these events. Shah added that India sped up development even as other countries faced crises.

Shah described the moment as historic and contrasted political conditions of the past. Shah said earlier elections took place in the shadow of the independence movement. Shah said that period had little competitive politics. Shah also said there was limited ambition for development then. Shah said long leadership now reflects performance politics.

Modi foreign policy record linked to political stability

Shah said this stretch would be seen as an era of political stability. Shah also linked it to policy making and steady implementation. Shah said Modi led the country for a long period. Shah added that the country moved ahead on many measures of development. Shah presented repeated electoral selection as a key achievement.

Shah said the country had 13 prime ministers in the past 62 years. Shah said India also saw many coalition governments and different parties in power. Shah said the country endured long phases of political instability. Shah linked stability under Modi to stronger governance. Shah said many people view Modi as a crisis-time leader.

Modi foreign policy and governance shift since 2014

Shah said Modi took office in 2014 amid corruption and policy paralysis. Shah also mentioned weak decision-making and a weakened economic framework. Shah said younger people now see those issues as history. Shah said a system has emerged that forms policies with foresight. Shah also said Modi built clear strategies to meet India’s challenges.

Shah said the NDA’s pledge of 33 per cent reservation for women would be met. Shah said the commitment would be completed under Modi’s leadership. Shah also listed steps for equal opportunities for women. These included the Army, police, scientific research, startups, drones, and sports. Shah said these steps support participation across sectors.

Shah said Modi’s decade changed politics towards performance-based choices. Shah said it moved away from casteism, dynastic politics, and appeasement. Shah called this shift a "booster dose\" for Indian democracy. Shah said people now seek development and judge performance. Shah added that voters are rising above caste, religion, and dynastic politics.
