Amit Shah Promises Justice In Red Fort Blast Case, Says No Terrorist Will Be Spared

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has pledged that those behind the deadly car explosion near Red Fort Metro Station will face the harshest punishment, emphasizing that the action taken against the perpetrators will send a strong message globally. "Perpetrators of the Delhi blast will be brought to justice and given the strictest possible punishment," Shah stated, asserting that the punishment will "send a message to the world that no one should dare to think of such an attack again."

The explosion occurred on November 10 near Gate 1 of Red Fort Metro Station, when a slow-moving car detonated, killing at least 12 people and injuring several others. Victims were rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, Shah held multiple high-level review meetings with senior officials to assess the situation and examine early findings from the investigation. He instructed forensic teams to expedite the analysis of materials recovered from the scene.

The case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is leading the investigation, assisted by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Authorities have conducted several raids and detained suspects nationwide as the probe widens.

CCTV footage reviewed by investigators showed a Hyundai i20 car parked for over three hours before the explosion occurred. The lack of shrapnel or pellet marks suggests that the device might not have been designed for maximum casualties. Forensic experts have recovered live cartridges, explosive residues, timers, and batteries-indicating a well-organized operation that possibly detonated prematurely.

While addressing the inauguration of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School and Sagar Organic Plant in Gujarat's Mehsana district, Shah extended condolences to the families of the victims. He reaffirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to ensuring justice for those responsible for the attack would be fully carried out. "Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the world has acknowledged India's strong stand against terrorism over the last 11 years," Shah said, crediting Modi for leading this global fight.

Latest developments in the Delhi blast investigation

According to ANI reports, Faridabad Police located a red Ford EcoSport (DL 10 CK 0458) on Wednesday, suspected to be linked to prime suspect Dr Umar Un Nabi. The vehicle was found parked near Khandawali village, officials confirmed.

Earlier, Delhi Police had issued an alert for the same vehicle, registered under the name of Dr Umar Un Nabi, and shared its details with the Uttar Pradesh and Haryana Police for wider tracing.

Investigations have revealed that the blast was part of a broader terror conspiracy involving eight suspects who allegedly planned coordinated explosions at four different locations. Each pair of attackers was assigned to a specific city and tasked with carrying multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for simultaneous strikes.

Among those under scrutiny are individuals connected to earlier terror cases, including Dr Muzammil, Dr Adeel, Dr Umar, and Shaheen-some of whom were already on security watchlists.

Sources told ANI that the Delhi Police and national agencies successfully foiled a major terror plot intended to unleash multiple blasts across several Indian cities, averting what could have been one of the most significant terror strikes in recent years.
