Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Yogi Adityanath And Many Others Join PM Modi's 'Swacchta Hi Seva' Campaign

Leaders from various regions of the country enthusiastically participated in the 'Shramdaan for Cleanliness' drive as part of PM Modi's 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign on Sunday. This was in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a nationwide cleanliness drive on 1st October.

High-profile leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Chief JP Nadda, and several Union ministers and MPs, enthusiastically engaged in cleanliness drives across the nation under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative.

Images captured Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Minister of Gujarat sweeping the streets in Ahmedabad alongside fellow leaders.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took part in the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign in Sitapur, while UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary led the drive under the 'Garbage Free India - Clean India' campaign.

In the national capital, BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi actively participated in the 'Swachhata Abhiyan' (cleanliness drive).

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad joined a cleanliness drive organized under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign in Patna. He emphasized the national importance of Swachh Bharat and highlighted the participation of advocates in the drive."It is a national program. Advocates also took part in the drive. I am going to Kalighat Patna and will participate in the cleanliness campaign. Swachh Bharat is important for the country," said the BJP leader as per a report quoting him in TOI.

The Ministry of Jal Shakti issued an official statement stating that Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat led a cleanliness drive from Chhath Ghat, ITO in Delhi, as part of the ongoing 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign."The Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat along with Senior officials of the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation to participate in 'Shramdaan for Swachhata' under the 'Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath' initiative of the Prime Minister, and as part of ongoing 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign," as per the statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called upon citizens across the country to participate in a cleanliness drive starting at 10 am on 1st October, stressing that Swachh Bharat is a collective responsibility. PM Modi posted on social media handle X, "1st October at 10 AM, we come together for a pivotal cleanliness initiative. A Swachh Bharat is a shared responsibility, and every effort counts. Join this noble endeavor to usher in a cleaner future,"

PM Modi himself joined Ankit Baiyanpuriya, former wrestler and fitness influencer, for the cleanliness drive. He posted on his social media handle X, "Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we blended fitness and well-being also into the mix. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe!

On the 105th episode of Mann ki Baat, PM Modi said, "A big event on cleanliness is going to be organized on October 1 that is on Sunday at 10 am. You too should take your time and help in this campaign related to cleanliness. You can also join this cleanliness campaign in your street, or neighborhood, or at a park, river, lake, or any other public place." as per the TOI report.

The 'Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath' Campaign is a significant cleanliness initiative coinciding with the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. It serves as a prelude to the 'Swachhata Pakhwada- Swachhata Hi Seva' 2023 campaign. PM Modi's call for one hour of 'Shramdaan for swachhata' at 10 am on 1st October was met with enthusiasm from netizens.

Every town, Gram Panchayat, and various government sectors, including civil aviation, railways, and public institutions, are facilitating cleanliness events led by citizens. As per reports, a dedicated portal has been established to help organizations organize different events and invite influencers and citizens to join as Swachhata Ambassadors. People can click and upload their pictures on this portal marking their presence.

The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on 2nd October 2014, with an aim to make the country open defecation-free and achieve universal sanitation coverage. In 2021, PM Modi launched Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 to make all Indian cities 'Garbage Free' and 'Water Secure.' PM Modi has encouraged people to actively participate in the cleanliness campaign, which is a significant step toward realizing Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean India.
