Amit Shah Inaugurates Projects, Lays Foundation Stones in Chandigarh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated nine projects and laid the foundation stones for three more during an event in Chandigarh on Friday. The projects, valued at an estimated Rs 368 crore, are aimed at improving various aspects of the city's infrastructure and services.

Inaugurated Projects
The projects inaugurated by Shah include the Administrative Block-C degree wing at the Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), the Himalaya Hostel in the Punjab Engineering College at Sector 12, a sewage treatment plant at Diggian, augmentation of the existing sewage treatment plant at Raipur Kalan, and 192 houses in the Chandigarh Police complex, Dhanas.
Shah also inaugurated the Cyber Operation and Security Centre (CenCOPS) in Chandigarh, which is aimed at enhancing the city's cybersecurity capabilities.
Foundation Stones Laid
The Union Home Minister laid the foundation stone for an effluent treatment plant at the Government Multi Specialty Hospital at Sector 16, Government High School in Sarangpur, and the Government High School in Karsan.
Addressing the Gathering
Speaking at the event, Shah emphasized the need for Chandigarh to maintain its top position among cities in the country. He said that many projects related to cleanliness, education, security, residential facilities, and higher education have been initiated at a cost of nearly Rs 400 crore.
Shah also highlighted the importance of technology in policing and encouraged youngsters to participate in hackathons to resolve the country's problems.
Appointment Letters Distributed
During the event, 744 youngsters were given appointment letters as assistant sub-inspectors and constables. Shah said that different challenges, particularly with regard to technology, are before the police and encouraged youngsters to use their knowledge to resolve these challenges.
Historic Day for Chandigarh
Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who was also present at the event, referred to the projects as a historic day for Chandigarh. He expressed gratitude to Shah for his guidance and foresight in taking Chandigarh ahead.
Purohit also expressed confidence that Chandigarh will soon become one of the cleanest cities in the country with the full cooperation of the people.
The inauguration of these projects and the laying of foundation stones for future developments mark a significant step forward in enhancing the infrastructure and services of Chandigarh. These initiatives are expected to improve the quality of life for residents and contribute to the city's overall growth and development.
