Amit Shah In Rajya Sabha Says "Hindus Can Never Be Terrorists"

In a fiery speech during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a bold declaration in the Rajya Sabha, asserting, "Hindus can never be terrorists." His comment came amid a special discussion on Operation Sindoor and drew sharp political fault lines between the ruling BJP and the Congress-led Opposition.

Shah's statement was aimed at countering past narratives linking the Hindu community to terrorism. "This country has suffered because of such false narratives, often fueled by appeasement politics. I say this with pride - no Hindu can ever be a terrorist," Shah told the Upper House.

Recounting the Batla House encounter case, Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress, saying, "Sonia Gandhi cried when terrorists were gunned down in Batla House. Today they ask me where the terrorists are - I ask them, where were you when terrorists escaped freely under your rule?"

The Home Minister used the platform to highlight the BJP government's aggressive stance against terrorism. "Had Congress been in power, they would've sent dossiers to Pakistan. Today, under Prime Minister Modi, we respond with BrahMos missiles," he declared, drawing a sharp contrast between the two regimes.

Shah also criticized the Congress for mishandling key historical moments. He referred to the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, calling it a "Balochistan blunder" for equating India and Pakistan as victims of terrorism. "Our civilians and soldiers were killed, and Congress gave a clean chit to Pakistan. Thankfully, PM Modi put an end to that approach - there will be no talks until terrorism ends," he asserted.

Further sharpening his attack, Shah said, "Had I been in a decisive position at the time, I would never have signed the agreement to divide Mother India." He blamed the Congress for decisions that he claimed continue to hurt the nation today - including allowing China to take Indian territory post the Indo-China war, and rejecting a U.S. offer to make India a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Concluding his address, Amit Shah reiterated that the Congress has "no moral right" to question the BJP on terrorism, claiming it was their policy of appeasement that allowed terrorism to flourish in the first place.

As political tensions simmered in the House, Shah's emphatic defense of the Hindu community and his sharp rebuke of Congress-era policies drew strong reactions - setting the stage for a contentious political battle inside and outside Parliament.
