Amit Shah Hurls Photo Session Jibe At Opposition Meet In Patna

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday took a jibe at the opposition meet in Patna convened to forge an alliance to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Shah also claimed that Narendra Modi will return as Prime Minister after 2024 Lok Sabha elections by winning more than 300 seats.

"Today a photo session is underway in Patna. They (opposition) want to challenge the BJP, PM Modi and NDA. No matter how much they try, the opposition will not be able to unite. And even if they do unite, people of the country will ensure that Narendra Modi returns as Prime Minister with more than 300 seats," Amit Shah said.

While BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad asked who would be the Prime Ministerial candidate from the Opposition for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

"Nitish Kumar is preparing the wedding procession for the 2024 elections in Patna, but who is the groom (PM contender). Everyone is calling themselves a PM contender," he said.

Nearly 20 opposition parties are meeting in Patna today to chalk out a joint strategy to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The meeting is being led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his Aney Marg residence.

A basic outline and roadmap for Opposition unity are likely to be deliberated upon with the contentious issue of seat sharing and leadership questions to be avoided for now.

Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab's Bhagwant Mann, Tamil Nadu's M K Stalin, Jharkhand's Hemant Soren, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, and NCP chief Sharad Pawar are present in the meeting.

The opposition meeting in Patna began from 11 am and is expected to be concluded by 3:30 pm. The leaders will address a 30 minute joint press conference, following the meet.
