Amit Shah Hits Back At Kejriwal: No Doubt About Modi's Prime Ministership After 75

In response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's statement that Narendra Modi will retire after turning 75 and Amit Shah will become the prime minister, it was emphasized by Amit Shah that Kejriwal had nothing to be happy about regarding PM Modi turning 75.

"I want to convey to Arvind Kejriwal and others that there is no reason for you to be happy about Modiji turning 75. Nowhere in the BJP's constitution is it written that he cannot be the prime minister. He will indeed be the prime minister and complete his term. There is no ambiguity within the party," stated Amit Shah in a press conference held in Telangana regarding the question of his becoming the prime minister.

Kejriwal's Rally Remarks on Modi's Retirement and Succession Plan

Kejriwal delivered his first rally on Saturday, a day after being released from jail after 50 days, and mentioned that voting for Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha election 2024 would signify voting for Amit Shah, as Narendra Modi would retire next year upon turning 75, at which point Amit Shah would assume the role of prime minister.

"These individuals inquire about the INDIA bloc regarding their face. I pose the question to the BJP: who will be their PM? Modi ji will turn 75 on September 17 next year. He had established the rule that individuals aged 75 will be retired. They retired LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan. He will retire next year. He is seeking votes to appoint Amit Shah as the prime minister. Will Shah fulfil Modiji's guarantee?" remarked Kejriwal.

Not only opposition leaders but also their party leaders are within Kejriwal's scope, he noted, adding that if the BJP comes to power, they will replace Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath because the BJP is following the path of 'one nation, one leader'.

The response from BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi indicated that Kejriwal was discussing BJP's succession plan while expressing a lack of confidence in any of his AAP colleagues to succeed him. Trivedi stated that Kejriwal inadvertently revealed the truth - akin to someone under the influence of alcohol - that Modi would win the election.

AAP's Reply to Amit Shah

In response to Amit Shah, AAP MP Sanjay Singh mentioned that Kejriwal raised a valid issue before the nation. "Now that Amit Shah is stated that Modi will remain the prime minister, Modi should clarify why he compelled numerous BJP leaders to retire based on this age factor. Modi himself established this rule, and he should announce that this age formula will not apply to him as it did to LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi," stated Sanjay Singh.
