Amit Shah hails passage of GST bill in Rajya Sabha
New Delhi, Aug 3 Hailing the passage of the GST Bill in the Rajya Sabha, BJP chief Amit Shah tonight said it reaffirms Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "commitment" to cooperative federalism as it will lead to "one nation, one tax" regime and increase revenue of states.

He said GST is the biggest tax reform since Independence and had been a long standing demand of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and Modi has made it a reality.
"GST will lead to 'One Nation, One Tax', empower states and increase their revenues. It reaffirms PM's commitment to cooperative federalism.
"I congratulate PM Narendra Modi and FM Arun Jaitely for creating wide consensus on the GST Bill that will benefit all including poor," he said in a series of tweets.
"The bill will help speed the development works in the country and its passage also shows NDA's commitment to economic reforms," he said in a statement.. He also thanked the opposition parties and other MPs for supporting the measure in the Rajya Sabha.
Shah also thanked the media, intellectuals, economists and members of civil society for creating an enabling environment for the passage of GST Bill.
