The meeting comes in the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, which have raised concerns about the region's law and order situation.

On Friday, Amit Shah had already convened a high-level meeting with senior MHA officials in New Delhi to discuss the situation in J&K, following which he scheduled another detailed meeting for June 16.

During the Sunday meeting, officials briefed Amit Shah on the current security conditions and the preparedness to respond to terrorist attacks. The recent terrorist incidents in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda since June 9 have resulted in the deaths of nine pilgrims, one CRPF jawan, and injuries to a civilian and at least seven security personnel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a top-level meeting on Thursday to discuss the security situation in the region after the spate of terrorist incidents.

In the meeting, NSA Ajit Doval and other senior officials provided Modi with updates on the efforts to combat terrorism in the region. The PM was informed about the plans and actions being taken to address terrorist threats and ensure the region's security.

Modi also consulted with Amit Shah on deploying security forces and continuing counter-terrorism operations. He also spoke with J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to assess the situation and receive updates on the measures taken by the local government.
