Amit Shah Asserts CAA's Irreversibility: BJP Firm on Stand, No Compromise
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reaffirmed the government's stance on CAA, asserting that it would never be revoked and emphasizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led administration would not compromise on the issue. Shah's remarks came during an interview to ANI, highlighting the government's determination to stand firm on its decision despite opposition backlash.
Addressing concerns raised by opposition leaders regarding the timing of CAA notification, Shah dismissed allegations of political opportunism, stating that the government had transparently articulated its intentions regarding CAA well in advance. He highlighted the BJP's commitment to providing Indian citizenship to refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, as outlined in its 2019 manifesto.

Shah refuted accusations of using CAA for political gain, drawing parallels with opposition objections to crucial national security decisions such as surgical strikes and air strikes. He emphasized the government's unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and safeguard national interests.
Furthermore, Shah dismissed opposition claims of the BJP creating a new vote bank through CAA, asserting that the government's actions were guided by a clear agenda aimed at fulfilling electoral promises. He emphasized the legality and nationwide applicability of CAA, reiterating the government's commitment to its implementation.
The Union Home Ministry unveiled an online portal for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on Tuesday, signaling the government's commitment to uphold its sovereign right to grant Indian citizenship. The launch of the portal comes amidst mounting criticism from opposition parties following the notification of CAA rules earlier this week.
The launch of the online portal marks a significant step towards the effective implementation of CAA, enabling streamlined processes for granting Indian citizenship to eligible refugees. As the nation prepares for general elections, the government's steadfast approach towards CAA underscores its commitment to upholding sovereignty and addressing long-standing issues of citizenship.
Despite opposition criticism and political maneuvering, the BJP-led government remains resolute in its determination to implement CAA, emphasizing the fulfillment of electoral mandates and the advancement of national interests. As the political landscape continues to evolve, CAA remains a focal point of contention, shaping debates and narratives surrounding citizenship and identity in India.
