Ambedkar's fight was for equality, dignity: PM
Mhow, April 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the constitution, fought against injustice in society and his fight was for equality and dignity.
Launching the 'Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday' programme here on the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar, Modi said the programme will be held from April 14 to April 24.

"It is my privilege that I am here, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar. I bow to this land. He (Ambedkar) fought against injustice in society. His was a fight for equality and dignity," Modi said.
'Gram Uday se Bharat Uday' (India's uplift through rural uplift) seeks to strengthen the Panchayati raj structure and boost development in villages.
