Amarnath yatra should be for 30 days, says Syed Ali Shah Geelani
Srinagar, May 2: Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Friday said that 'the annual Amarnath Yatra should be restricted to 30 days for the safety of the pilgrims and protection of the environment.'
Geelani, who was addressing a rally on Friday said: "We advise the government to restrict the yatra to one month like Uttarakhand-Gangotri yatra time-table. It will be safe for the pilgrims and the environment."

Geelani added that the number of pilgrims also should be controlled. The yatra will begin on July 2 this year and will be for 59 days.
