Almost 2 Weeks After NCP Split, Maha Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Visits Sharad Pawar's Home

Almost two weeks after ditching Sharad Pawar to join the NDA, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday evening paid a visit to the NCP supremo's house in Mumbai.

This is their first meeting after Ajit Pawar led the vertical split of Sharad Pawar's NCP to join the Eknath Shinde's government.

It is believed that Ajit went to Sharad Pawar's residence Silver Oak in Mumbai to enquire about the health of Pratibha Pawar, wife of Nationalist Congress Party founder Sharad Pawar who underwent surgery on Friday.

Pratibha Pawar, wife of Nationalist Congress Party founder Sharad Pawar, was on Friday admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai where she underwent an operation.

The surgery was related to her hand, the functionary from the Sharad Pawar faction said without elaborating.

Ajit Pawar is known to be close to his aunt Pratibha. In 2019 she reportedly played a crucial role in bringing him back to the NCP fold after he and Devendra Fadnavis formed a short-lived government post the Assembly polls.

Fondly known as 'Kaki' among NCP leaders, Pratibha Pawar is often viewed as the matriarch of the party but is never active in politics.
