All India Muslim Mahapanchayat Deferred: Delhi Police Cites Lack of Written Assurance
The All India Muslim Mahapanchayat, scheduled for December 18th at Ramlila Ground in Delhi, has been postponed due to the Delhi Polices concerns about the events safe and smooth conduct. The organizers failed to provide written assurance on certain crucial points, leading to the denial of a no-objection certificate.

An All India Muslim Mahapanchayat, scheduled to be held at the Ramlila ground in New Delhi on Monday, has been postponed due to the Delhi Police's failure to receive written assurance from the organizers regarding the safe and smooth conduct of the event.
Permission Granted with Conditions
On December 1, the Delhi High Court granted permission to Mission Save Constitution, an organization claiming to work for the protection of citizen rights, to hold the event at the Ramlila ground on December 18, subject to certain conditions for ensuring the safety and smoothness of the event.
No Written Assurance Received
However, the police have not received any written assurance related to certain crucial points necessary for conducting the event, leading to the inability to issue a no-objection certificate (NOC). Despite repeated attempts, no one from the organization approached the police until Sunday night.
Organizers' Response
Advocate Mehmood Pracha, the head of the organization, stated that they have filed a fresh petition before the court on the issue, and the hearing is scheduled for December 19.
Police's Concerns
The police authorities, represented by advocate Arun Panwar, sought assurances from the petitioners on several points. These included ensuring that the gathering would not significantly exceed the proposed 10,000 people, that the names and number of speakers would not change, and that no speaker would make any statements against Indian laws or engage in hate speech that could disrupt public harmony, peace, and tranquillity in the area.
Alternative Plans
While the event at the Ramlila ground has been canceled, the organizers plan to hold a smaller gathering at the Aiwan-e-Ghalib auditorium near ITO on Monday.
Mission Save Constitution's Objectives
Earlier, Mission Save Constitution had stated in its plea that it aimed to initiate a series of events to empower marginalized sections of society, starting with minority communities and followed by other groups such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. The organization intended to raise the voices of the oppressed at its meetings.
