Bihar Set to Host the All India Civil Services Sports Meet 2025-26 at Patliputra Sports Complex from December 13-15

Bihar will host the All India Civil Services Sports Meet 2025-26 at Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna, from 13 to 15 December. The event gathers 1,084 participants from multiple states, featuring athletics across various disciplines and a veteran category, showcasing national sports talent and Bihar’s growing sports infrastructure.

Bihar is all set to host the All India Civil Services Sports Meet 2025-26 from December 13 to 15, 2025. The three-day national sporting event will be held at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh, Patna, where civil service athletes from across the country will come together to showcase their performance and sportsmanship.

This year, a total of 1,084 participants-including 702 male athletes, 328 female athletes and 54 officials-will take part in the meet. Delegations from Haryana, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka will participate, adding diversity and competitive spirit to the event.

The meet will feature key athletics competitions such as races of various distances, shot put, high jump, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, relay races and hammer throw. A special category for veteran athletes aged 40 to 60 has also been included, ensuring participation from both young and experienced competitors.

The Patliputra Sports Complex is fully prepared to host the event, equipped with a modern synthetic track, advanced throwing areas, a state-of-the-art gymnasium and complete training facilities. Athletics in Bihar has made significant progress in recent years. The state government has invested heavily in sports infrastructure, district-level academies, talent identification initiatives and athlete welfare schemes. These consistent efforts have strengthened Bihar's sporting culture and created opportunities for young athletes to shine at national platforms. With emerging talent making its mark, Bihar is steadily gaining recognition in the field of athletics. Hosting such national events further encourages local athletes, promotes sports tourism and boosts the state's training ecosystem.

The organising committee is headed by Pranav Kumar, Organizing Secretary, Department of Art, Culture & Youth, Bihar, while Shirshat Kapil Ashok, Managing Director, BSRDCL, Government of Bihar, serves as the Secretary-cum-Nodal Officer (Athletics). Their leadership and supervision have ensured that all arrangements meet national standards, providing a safe and world-class environment for the participants.

The Government of Bihar has extended a warm welcome to all athletes, officials and participating state contingents. The three-day sports meet is expected to celebrate athletic excellence, foster unity and set new benchmarks for future civil services sporting events.
