All govt services in AP to go online from October, CM Naidu announces e-Pragati year
Chandrababu Naidu has been credited with making the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh technology friendly when he was the Chief Minister.
Come October and all government services, 32 in number, will go online. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the move is aimed at making administration technology friendly and transparent.

Andhra Pradesh government has announced 2017-18 as an e-Pragati year, meaning the year of technological advancement. Naidu has pledged to make all government services available online starting October. Departments of Agriculture and Co-Operation, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Backward Classes Welfare, Chief Ministers Office, Consumer Affairs Food & Civil Supplies, Department for Women, Children, Disabled and Senior,Energy, Environment, Forests, Science and Technology, Finance, General Administration, Health, Medical and Family Welfare, Higher Education, Home, Housing, Industries and Commerce, Information Technology, Labour, Minorities Welfare, Revenue etc will become technology friendly. Details of schemes, applying for benefits, certification, status update and scholarships will be automated and computerized.
The Chandrababu Naidu government has begun training officials to handle e-governance. A six-week training programme is being conducted by a team from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.Four officials from each department have been selected for the training program. Once equipped to adapt to the technology, the officials will incorporate the same in their department. The entire process is expected to be completed by October. The training session was inaugurated in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
With the move to an online platform, all certificates, invoices, file status will be available online. Apart from ensuring transparency, the move is also aimed at job creation. "By using technology the state government is able to save 15 per cent in Public Distribution System, 6 per cent in pensions and 25 per cent in scholarships by curbing misuse of the schemes," said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
