Alagiri: DMK shows him the door, Rajnikant welcomes him

The former is said to have made a surprise visit to the veteran actor's home after having met the PM in Delhi.
Prime MInister Manmohan Singh is reported to have asked the leader on his intentions to contest the Lok Sabha elections this year, to which he answered in the negative. However, he did express his desire to float a party before the next Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
Whether visiting Rajnikant was a part of this expedition is not clear. Earlier, he met the BJP President Rajnath Singh under closed wraps. His excuse was that he had worked with Singh's Cabinet for four years and therefore wished to thank him.
Referring to his visit to the PM's, he said that the latter had enquired about Karunanidhi's health and regretted that DMK had parted ways with Congress after 9 years.
