Alagiri: DMK not fielding the right candidates, will lose polls

, has targetted the candidature of A Raja, the 2G scam accused. He has said that fielding the 2G scam candidates will take the party down never to be placed back on track. He said,"DMK should field the right candidates and not the corrupt ones if it has to win the confidence of the people."

Earlier AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha too had lambasted Karunanidhi for fielding Raja and Dayanidhi Maran, while addressing an election rally in Erode. Jayalalitha had said,"What does it mean if there is no witness? Karunanidhi thinks that he can justify scam-tainted candidates contest and cheat the people."

Meanwhile, Alagiri backs the administrative capacities of Narendra Modi and hails him as the harbinger of progress and development.

While Raja is facing corruption charges in the 2G case, Maran was an accused in Aircel-Maxis, apart from illegally procuring 300 telephone connections at his home.
