Akhilesh Yadav to Join Rahul Gandhis Bharat Jodo Yatra in Uttar Pradesh

Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party, has accepted the invitation to join the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in its Uttar Pradesh leg. Yadav is expected to join the yatra either in Amethi or Raebareli.

In a significant development, the Congress party has extended an invitation to Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav to join the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra during its Uttar Pradesh leg. This invitation comes after Yadav expressed his disappointment over not receiving an invitation for the yatra earlier.

Akhilesh Yadav Jumps on the Bharat Jodo Yatra Bandwagon

Akhilesh Yadav Accepts the Invitation

Yadav has graciously accepted the invitation extended by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and confirmed his participation in the yatra. He will join the march either in Amethi or Raebareli, two politically significant districts in Uttar Pradesh.

Strengthening the PDA Strategy

Yadav expressed his belief that the Nyay Yatra would bolster the SP's PDA (Pichchde backward, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak minority) strategy and advance its campaign for social justice and harmonious coexistence.

Congress and SP: Allies in Opposition

Both the Congress and the SP are part of the opposition INDIA bloc, which aims to challenge the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections. The SP recently offered 11 seats to the Congress for the upcoming parliamentary polls in Uttar Pradesh, which sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha.

Congress Faces Criticism from Allies

The Congress has faced criticism from some of its allies, such as the Trinamool Congress (TMC), over seat sharing and the conduct of the yatra. TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee notably stayed away from the yatra while it was in her state.

Congress Organizes Cultural Program in Uttar Pradesh

Meanwhile, the Congress general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge, Avinash Pande, participated in a cultural program organized by the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee on the birth anniversary of poet Pradeep. The program aimed to spread the message of the Nyay Yatra to the people and will continue until February 12.

Congress Leaders Speak Out

Speaking at the event, Pande emphasized the importance of Rahul Gandhi's message of humanity, love, and brotherhood. He contrasted this with the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which he accused of spreading hatred and attempting to take the country backward. Pande urged everyone to stand with Rahul Gandhi to protect the Constitution.

Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai praised poet Pradeep's dedication to humanity and brotherhood, drawing parallels with Rahul Gandhi's current mission. Rai expressed confidence in the Congress party's fight for the rights of the people and predicted the downfall of the BJP in the 2024 elections.

The invitation extended to Akhilesh Yadav to join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh marks a significant development in the political landscape of the state. As the yatra enters Uttar Pradesh, it remains to be seen how the participation of prominent opposition leaders will impact the political dynamics and the upcoming electoral contests.
