Akhilesh Yadav Drops Hints: Key Decisions Coming in INDIA Bloc Post Surya Uttarayan
SP president Akhilesh Yadav provided insights into the decision-making process within the INDIA bloc, indicating that crucial developments will unfold after the occurrence of Surya Uttarayan. Discussions surrounding seat sharing and other alliance strategies took center stage during his interaction with reporters.
In a recent press conference held in Bisukia village, Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, addressed various political matters, including seat sharing within the INDIA bloc, the upcoming Surya Uttarayan festival, and his stance on the Ram Temple issue.

Surya Uttarayan to Guide Decision-Making
Regarding seat sharing and other decisions within the INDIA bloc, Yadav emphasized that a collective decision will be made soon, taking into account the opinions of the SP and other allied parties. He urged patience until the auspicious occasion of Surya Uttarayan, which marks the beginning of Makar Sankranti on January 14.
SP's Commitment to the INDIA Bloc
Yadav reaffirmed the SP's unwavering commitment to the INDIA bloc, assuring that details regarding responsibilities within the alliance will be disclosed shortly. He expressed confidence that the alliance, not limited to Uttar Pradesh but extending to the entire nation, shares a common goal of ousting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power.
Criticism of BJP's Policies
Yadav criticized the BJP's governance, particularly the reduction in the budget allocated to village heads, which he believes hinders the realization of a developed India. He also questioned the BJP's fulfillment of promises such as doubling farmers' incomes and providing employment to the youth, accusing the party of evading these issues by resorting to religious rhetoric.
Stance on Ram Temple and Invitation Controversy
On the topic of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony, Yadav expressed skepticism about the BJP's selective invitation policy. He asserted that true devotion to Lord Shri Ram transcends invitations and cannot be restricted by political parties. He emphasized that the BJP's actions reflect a political agenda rather than a genuine religious sentiment.
Ambitions for Prime Ministership
In response to questions about his aspirations for the prime minister's position, Yadav acknowledged that even individuals with fewer parliamentary seats have held the office in the past. However, he maintained that the primary objective is to ensure the BJP's defeat. He drew parallels to former prime minister Chandrashekhar, who assumed the role despite having limited support.
Allegations of Misuse of Central Agencies
Yadav accused the government of misusing central investigative agencies for political purposes, citing historical precedents of governments facing ouster for such actions.
Rahul Gandhi's Nyaya Yatra
Regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Nyaya Yatra, Yadav acknowledged the significance of the initiative but emphasized the need for clarity on ticket distribution and seat allocation before the yatra gains momentum. He suggested that resolving these matters would encourage broader participation and cooperation from various parties.
BSP's Potential Inclusion in INDIA Alliance
When asked about the impact of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati joining the INDIA Alliance, Yadav raised questions about her party's commitment and sought assurances from journalists. Media reports indicate that Yadav has reservations about including the BSP in the alliance.
Akhilesh Yadav's statements provide insights into the political dynamics within the INDIA bloc, his critique of the BJP's governance, and his stance on various issues. As the political landscape evolves in India, Yadav's perspectives contribute to the ongoing discourse and shape the strategies of the opposition parties.
