Akhilesh Yadav congratulates 'united opposition parties'

Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav congratulated 'united opposition parties' of the state for the victory of RLD and SP candidate from Kairana Lok Sabha constituency and Noorpur assembly seat respectively.

After the announcements of Lok Sabha election results, Akhilesh Yadav, said, 'I thank the voters for bringing us to power. People have voted in this scorching heat, and the ideology has won, the farmers and the poor have voted for us.'

"Jayant Choudhary, Ajit Singh and all the workers and leaders of SP have worked hard to ensure this historic win, " he said.

Akhilesh Yadav tweeted that the defeat of the ruling party in Kairana is the defeat of their (BJP) politics in their own laboratory. This is the beginning of the victory of the people who believe in unity and the end of arrogant leadership.

Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Tabassum Hasan declared her victory in Kairana, hailing Opposition unity as the key to defeat the BJP. Hasan was supported by the Congress, Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party. Hasan defeated Bharatiya Janata Partys Mriganka Singh by 43,000 votes.

Samajwadi Party's Naim Ul Hasan won Noorpur assembly seat against BJP's Avinash Singh. By-elections in Noorpur was necessitated due the the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Lokendra Singh in February.
