Akhilesh Yadav Says BJPs First List of Candidates Reflects Acceptance of Defeat

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed his views on the BJPs initial list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. He suggested that the partys decision to retain several sitting MPs indicates an acceptance of defeat, as it stems from fears of rebellion within the party.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections reveals the party's acknowledgment of defeat. He highlighted that the BJP has retained several sitting MPs due to the fear of rebellion, indicating a lack of confidence in their chances of victory.

Akhilesh Yadavs Insight: BJPs Candidate List Reveals Hidden Truth

BJP Releases First List of Candidates

On Saturday, the BJP unveiled its first list of 195 candidates, including 51 from Uttar Pradesh. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will once again contest from Varanasi. Unlike previous polls, the list did not feature many surprising omissions, except in Delhi, where four sitting MPs, including Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, former Union Minister Harsh Vardhan, and Ramesh Bidhuri, were dropped.

Akhilesh Yadav's Analysis of BJP's List

Taking to Twitter, Akhilesh Yadav expressed his views on the BJP's candidate list. He stated that the party has selected candidates for seats where they perceive a slight possibility of winning. However, he believes that the BJP has conceded defeat on the remaining seats. Yadav attributed this to the fear of rebellion within the party, leading to the renomination of individuals who were not expected to receive tickets due to their lack of performance or involvement in corruption.

Disappointment Among BJP Workers

Yadav further alleged that there is deep disappointment among BJP workers. He claimed that they recognize the changing political winds and anticipate the defeat of their sitting MPs. Additionally, young leaders who supported the BJP's policies in the hope of securing a ticket will also be disheartened by the party's choices.

BJP's First List: A Declaration of Hopelessness

Akhilesh Yadav concluded by labeling the BJP's first list as a declaration of the party's hopelessness. He believes that the list reflects the BJP's lack of confidence and diminishing chances of success in the upcoming elections.

Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections

The Election Commission is expected to announce the poll schedule later this month, with the elections likely to be held in April-May. In the 2019 polls, the BJP secured a landslide victory, winning 303 seats. However, its current strength in the Lok Sabha stands at 290 due to various factors, including recent resignations of MPs who won assembly polls.
