Akhilesh shielding criminals for vote bank: BJP
Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday filed an FIR against tainted minister Gayatri Prajapati in connection with cases of alleged rape and blackmailing.
Attempting to corner Akhilesh Yadav over SP candidate and former minister Gayatri Prajapati's rape case, the BJP on Monday accused the Uttar Pradesh chief minister of 'campaigning for the criminals'.
BJP leader Srikant Sharma told news agency ANI that Prajapati has not been arrested despite serious charges against him.

Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday filed an FIR against tainted minister Gayatri Prajapati in connection with cases of alleged rape and blackmailing.The Supreme Court had on Friday ordred registration of FIR against him based on the complaint of the victim, a social activist.
The social activist had last year accused the minister of spiking her tea with an intoxicating substance and then raping her. She has also accussed the minister of trying to molest her minor daughter.
Prajapati was sacked by Akhilesh from the cabinet in 2016 during the SP family feud but was later reinstated in the council of ministers.
