AirAsia Flight Takes Off Without Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot On Board
An AirAsia flight bound for Hyderabad departed from Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport on Thursday afternoon, but to the surprise of many, Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot was not on board. The airline claimed that the Governor's delayed arrival at the terminal was the reason, but officials assert that he was waiting in the airport lounge. This incident has also raised accusations of breaching protocol against the airline.
The refusal to allow Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot to board the AirAsia India flight is considered a clear violation of protocol. The flight was scheduled to depart for Hyderabad at 2.05 pm, but it left without the Governor on board.

It remains to be seen whether the Governor was genuinely late for the flight or if it was a mistake on the part of the flight crew. Later on, Governor Gehlot took another AirAsia India flight to reach Hyderabad.
Reports have varied, with some sources denying any delay on Governor Gehlot's part in reaching the terminal. According to the usual protocol for VVIPs like the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Chief Minister, and Supreme Court Justice, they wait at the ceremonial lounge and board the flight once the passengers' boarding gate is closed, with the VVIP, in this case, being the last to board.
The team accompanying the Governor has denied any delay on his part, with reports quoting them stating that the boarding gate was still open when he arrived at the flight.
The crew of the AirAsia flight that did not allow the Governor to board is currently under questioning until Thursday evening as investigations into the incident continue.
