AirAsia CEO Posts Pic Of Taking Massage In Conference Room, Gets Trolled
A post shared by Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia, on social media has garnered a lot of attention with many criticising him for the inappropriate picture.
In his recent post, he expressed his gratitude for the company's flexible work culture on his LinkedIn page. He highlighted the ability to multitask, citing an instance where he received a massage while participating in a management meeting.

He also shared a picture of him shirtless in a conference room during the meeting. However, this post sparked controversy online, with many finding the image and situation inappropriate.
"Was a stressful week, and Veranita Yosephine suggested a massage. Got to love Indonesia and AirAsia culture that I can have a massage and do a management meeting. We are making big progress, and I have now finalized Capital A structure. Exciting days ahead. Proud of what we have built and never have lost sight of the finish," wrote Tony Fernandes on LinkedIn.
This has not gone well with many people. One user on social media said, "A grown man, who is the chief executive of a publicly listed company, conducts a management meeting with his shirt off as he gets a massage. Remove 'who is the chief executive of a publicly listed company,' and it is still inappropriate."
"Work at AirAsia, where meetings are as gross as our passenger experience... You have managed to capture everything from inappropriate entitlement to exemplary C Suite tone deafness in a single image. Bravo!" another individual said.
"I'm going to assume that this meeting took place long after the workday was over and most of the office was empty (except a few C-level), but at least put on a shirt for the photo," third one commented.
"Tony when you said Air Asia had an open culture I didn't expect it to be THIS open... (Laughter emojis)" a netizen added.
"Is this real? Some person suggested you get an office massage and you -blame- that person by tagging her? Just to hint that this wasn't your idea!" a LinkedIn user slammed him for the photo.
"You look pathetic btw and still managed to remove your shirt and have a woman massage you while you work(This shaming you deserve!). Who were the people attending that meeting? Ask them how working from office is working? They didn't say anything in this horror story of a meeting?" another user stated.
