Air India Takes Flight With Style: Manish Malhotra Designs New Crew Uniforms
Air India has unveiled a stunning new collection of uniforms for its cabin and cockpit crew, designed by celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra. The airline announced a phased introduction of these uniforms over the coming months, beginning with the debut on Air India's inaugural Airbus A350 aircraft.
Campbell Wilson, Air India's CEO and Managing Director, expressed confidence in the innovative ensemble by Manish Malhotra, stating, "Air India's crew uniforms hold a significant place in aviation history globally, and we believe that this creative offering will script an exciting new era for Air India."

The airline emphasized that the new designs were crafted in close collaboration with cabin crew representatives and the airline's In-flight services team. These designs underwent extensive testing before finalization. The cockpit crew's uniform showcases a classic black double-breasted suit featuring a Vista-inspired print, symbolizing professionalism, timelessness, and the prestige of the aviation profession.
Malhotra shared his vision behind the uniforms, aiming to "capture the essence of India's diverse culture and traditions while reflecting a modern and refined appearance," expressing hope that these uniforms would leave a lasting impression.
"My goal was to fashion uniforms that encapsulate India's rich cultural tapestry while embracing a contemporary and sophisticated style. Infused with quintessential Indian hues, I aspire for these uniforms to not only evoke pride in the crew but also create a memorable impression on guests, embodying the warmth and hospitality that India is renowned for," he articulated.
