Air India Staffer Murder: Shooter Arrested After Police Encounter in Greater Noida
A suspect linked to the murder of an Air India crew member in Greater Noida last year has been apprehended. The arrest followed a confrontation with police on Thursday. The victim, Suraj Maan, was allegedly killed in January 2024 amid a gang rivalry between imprisoned gangsters Pravesh Mann and Kapil Maan. Suraj was the sibling of Pravesh Mann.

Sikandar, also known as Satendra, was wanted for his involvement in the crime and had a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Mishra reported that during a vehicle check at Shashi Chowk cut on Dadri Road under Sector 39 police station, a person on a motorcycle without a number plate was spotted.
Police Encounter and Arrest
The police attempted to stop the individual, but he fled, prompting a chase. When cornered in the jungles of Sector-42, the suspect opened fire on the officers. In self-defence, the police retaliated, injuring Sikandar. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
A pistol, cartridge, and motorcycle were seized from Sikandar. A case of motorcycle theft has also been filed against him at Ghaziabad's Indirapuram police station. Mishra stated that Sikandar, along with accomplices Kuldeep alias Kallu and Abdul Qadir, shot Suraj Maan on January 19, 2024.
Previous Arrests and Investigation
Authorities had previously detained 11 suspects related to this case. However, Sikandar remained at large, leading to the announcement of a Rs 25,000 reward for his capture. Earlier arrests included two shooters involved in the incident.
The ongoing investigation highlights the intense gang rivalry that led to Suraj Maan's murder. The police continue to pursue leads to ensure justice is served in this high-profile case.
