Air India staffer goes missing in Bangalore
Bangalore, Jan 6: A senior manager with Air India went missing from Jeevan Beema Nagar bus stand, while returning home in HAL area late on Friday night.

Arun Mehta, 41, a resident of Annasandrapalya, walked towards Total Mall at 10.30 pm and was not heard about or seen since then. Arun's wife Anita lodged a missing complaint with HAL police.

A family member, in a post shared on Bangalore Police's Facebook page, said that Arun was on his way to home from the Kempegowda International Airport in a KIA Volvo bus route no. 4 with registration number 201. He boarded the bus around 9:30 pm. The bus conductor has confirmed that he got down from the bus around 10:30 pm at Jeevan Beema Nagar bus stand.

"Arun got into a Volvo bus at 9.22 and left for home. He called me and said that he would be home by 10.30 pm," Anita said. She started searching for him when he did not return. Arun parks his car near Islampur bus stand and takes bus to his office. While returning, he alights at the bus stand, gets into the car and returns, said the police. A few street vendors near the bus stand told Anita that Arun got down from the bus and sat in his car. Within seconds, he came out and went towards Total Mall.

"His whatsapp also shows that he was last seen on the app at 10:26 pm. His airtel phone number, 9980533159, has been switched off since we first tried to reach him at 11:30 pm and redirected our calls to his voice mail", said the Facebook post written by Nidhi Rajshree, a family member of Arun.

The police have launched an operation to trace the officer. Arun has been living in the city for the last 15 years.
