Air India serves meal in thali, tea in kulhad
Mumbai, Feb 4: Air India, the national carrier of India has become the first to serve thalis for lunch and dinner and tea in traditional kulhads on board flights.
According to a circular issued last month, "Lunch, dinner thalis and kulhad tea will initially be served on Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi sector flights and subsequently, extended to other metro sector flights."

"Cabin crew members have been given instructions on preparing thali and pre-fix masala chai," reported the Times of India Ashwani Lohani, AI chairman and MD as saying.

In association with its in-flight catering partners TajSats and Sky Gourmet, the ‘Order to Chef' Service lends a personalized touch to the selection and ordering of menu by First and Business class passengers.
