Air India Boeing 777 Falls 900 Feet After Delhi Takeoff; DGCA Orders Probe

Only 2 days after Air India's Ahmedabad plane crash, another plane scheduled between Delhi to Vienna had faced a similar crash-like situation. The incident reportedly happened on June 14, 2:56 pm. Thankfully, the pilot managed to escape the accident and all 242 passengers onboard are safe.

According to the reports, adverse weather conditions were the reason for the flight's unexpected movement. However, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken cognizance of the incident and is examining whether the incident happened because of adverse weather only or the plane had any systemic issues.

Safety Protocols

The DGCA is reviewing operational protocols and scheduling procedures at the Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC) to enhance safety measures. They aim to ensure that all flights adhere strictly to safety guidelines under varying weather conditions.

Despite the alarming nature of these events, no injuries were reported in either case. Passengers and crew members remained unharmed as both flights managed to land without further complications. However, the repeated activation of the 'Do Sink' alarm has raised concerns about potential technical malfunctions or pilot errors.

Ensuring Passenger Safety

The DGCA's investigation will focus on identifying any technical glitches or human errors that may have led to these incidents. They are committed to maintaining high safety standards for all airlines operating within Indian airspace. Any necessary corrective actions will be implemented promptly to prevent future occurrences.

Air India has assured passengers that their safety remains a top priority. The airline is cooperating fully with the DGCA's investigation and is taking proactive steps to address any identified issues. Regular maintenance checks and pilot training programs are being emphasized to uphold safety protocols.

The aviation authority's findings will be crucial in determining whether additional measures are needed to enhance flight safety across the board.
