AIMIM's Jaleel to Present Constitution Copies to Mahayuti Leaders for Action Against Rane and Maharaj
AIMIM leader and former MP Imtiaz Jaleel announced plans to visit Mumbai on 23 September. He intends to present copies of the Constitution to Mahayuti leaders, urging them to take action against Ramgiri Maharaj and MLA Nitesh Rane. Both have been accused of making controversial statements about Muslims.

"If such elements are left unchecked, it could lead to anarchy. No action has been taken against them despite multiple FIRs. The government is in a slumber. Therefore, we have decided to go to Mumbai on September 23 and gift copies of the Constitution to Mahayuti leaders seeking action," Jaleel said.
Constitutional Pledge
Jaleel emphasised that IPS officers pledge not to discriminate, but this is not being upheld in Maharashtra. "I think police officers have forgotten this pledge. That’s why no action is being taken against Ramgiri Maharaj and Nitesh Rane," he told reporters.
The AIMIM leader also plans to distribute copies of the Constitution to senior police officials. He believes this will remind them of their duty to uphold the law without bias.
Criticism of Government Schemes
Jaleel criticised Chief Minister Eknath Shinde over the recently launched ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme. The initiative provides Rs 1,500 monthly financial assistance to eligible women in the state. "If this scheme continues, the CM might have to travel on a state-owned bus or ask for a lift. They won’t have the money to buy fuel for government vehicles," he said, adding that the scheme will last only till Diwali.
Jaleel's comments highlight his concerns about the state's governance and the enforcement of laws against those making inflammatory statements. His planned visit aims to push for accountability and adherence to constitutional values among Maharashtra's leaders and police officials.
