Chennai, March 12: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha has mocked her arch rivals DMK as the later targeted AIADMK's "two-leaves" party symbol. She claimed that even the symbol has instilled fear in the mind of the party workers led by M Karunanidhi.

Amid roars of appreciation, Jayalalitha said in an election rally in Chidambram,"Anything viewed by jaundiced eyes looks yellow; for the DMK, which is struck by fear, whatever they see, it resembles two leaves."

The DMK had petitioned the Election Commission that anything that resembles "two leaves", be it on a mini bus or water bottles be masked in the run-up for Lok Sabha elections.

In a further jibe, she said she would be interested to know whether DMK leader MK Stalin will ask people to wear gloves or order chopping off their palms to mask the Congress's "palm" symbol.

The DMK referred to Amma's recent campaign of providing clean drinking water at affordable prices. She has launched the supply of 1 litre mineral water at Rs 10 a bottle.

The water is available in a plastic bottle with the word "Amma" inscribed on it and the party symbol of "two leaves".

The Election Commission has sought two days time in response to the notice by the High Court on the DMK's petition.
