AIADMK meet: Jaya is 'eternal' gen secy, Sasikala removed from all posts

The Madras High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking to stay the general council committee meeting called by Chief Minister Palaniswami-led faction.

The general council and executive meeting called by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E-Palasami led faction of the AIADMK has removed Sasikala from the post of temporary general secretary. Celebrations erupted the announcement was made.

The party also annulled the appointment of T T V Dhinakarana as the deputy general secretary. It was resolved that Jayalalithaa would be the 'eternal' general secretary of the party.

The party also decided to create two new posts to run the party. While O Panneerselvam would be the coordinator, E Palanisami would be the deputy coordinator.

RB Udaykumar, Tamil Nadu Minister, who read the resolution at the council meeting said all announcements of TTV Dinakaran are not binding on the party.

Also, all those appointed by Jayalalithaa as office bearers to continue in their positions.

Chief Minister K Palaniswami and his Deputy O Pannerselvam were among those who were present at today's meeting of the decision-making body, the first since the death of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's last year.

It is also the first after the unification of the two camps led by the Chief Minister and Panneerselvam.
