AIADMK candidate for Salem surrenders before courts

(TN) Mar 14: V Pannerselvam, a Lok Sabha candidate of

from Salem, today surrendered before two courts here in connection with two different cheque bounces cases.

The court had issued summons to Pannerselvam in 2008 directing him to appear before it and also issued an arrest warrant after he failed to do so.

Paneerselvam today appeared in the courts with his lawyer and sought an out-of-court settlement with the two persons who had filed the cases, which was acceded to. Following the settlement, the arrest warrant was also withdrawn. The two persons had filed cases alleging that cheques for Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs five lakh given to them had bounced bounced.
