Ahmedabad: Class 8 Student Stabs Class 10 Student In Seventh Day School

A tragic event unfolded at Seventh Day School in Ahmedabad's Khokhara area. A Class 8 student fatally stabbed a Class 10 student following a minor altercation. The victim was taken to a private hospital in Maninagar but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. This incident has sparked outrage and chaos within the community.

Following the student's death, members of the Sindhi community gathered at the school, leading to widespread disorder. The mob vandalised school property, including buses and vehicles, and assaulted staff members. The principal and other staff were also attacked as the situation spiralled out of control.

Police Intervention Amidst Chaos

The police were deployed to manage the escalating violence but faced significant challenges. Despite their presence, the mob continued to attack staff members and even attempted to overturn a police vehicle. The situation became so volatile that police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

Local authorities, including MLA from Maninagar, DCP Baldev Desai, and ACP, arrived at the scene to handle the situation. Members of Bajrang Dal, VHP, and ABVP also appeared wearing saffron scarves and chanting slogans. Over 2,000 people gathered outside the school, protesting against police actions.

Allegations Against School Authorities

Parents have accused school authorities of negligence following the student's death on campus. They claim that an ambulance was not called promptly, contributing to the tragedy. Additionally, parents allege that personal enmity led outsiders into the school who attacked and killed the Class 8 student.

As tensions rose further inside the school premises, fresh vandalism erupted. Women were seen breaking glass windows as Sector-2 JCP arrived at the scene to address the deteriorating situation.
