Ahead of polls in Karnataka, S M Krishna joins BJP
Krishna was inducted into the party in the presence of BJP president Amit Shah.
After four decades in the Indian National Congress, veteran politician and former external affairs minister in the UPA government S M Krishna joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday. Welcomed by senior BJP leaders at the party's headquarters in the national capital, Krishna was inducted into the party in the presence of BJP president Amit Shah.

A posse of BJP leaders from Karnataka was present as Krishna became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Former chief minister of the state and current Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, BJP MLAs R Ashoka, C T Ravi etc were present.
Krishna joins the BJP as Karnataka gears up for assembly polls in 2018. By bringing him on board, the BJP hopes to appeal to the all-important Vokkaliga vote back in the state.
