Agra Woman Seeks Divorce As Husband Forgets Rs 5 Kurkure Packet

A woman in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, recently filed for divorce from her husband because he failed to bring her a packet of Kurkure, a popular snack she was addicted to. The woman had developed a daily habit of asking her husband to buy her a Rs 5 packet of Kurkure. This routine led to arguments, and one day, he forgot to bring her the snack, as reported by Live Hindustan.

Upset over not getting her daily treat, the woman left her husband and went to her parents' home. She later approached the police seeking a divorce. The Shahganj police in Agra intervened and sent the couple for family counseling.

The couple, who had married the previous year, initially had a good relationship. However, as time passed, the husband became concerned about his wife's excessive craving for Kurkure, which she demanded daily.

The wife, on the other hand, claimed that she left for her parents' home because her husband had physically abused her.

This incident comes after another couple in Agra sought a divorce because the wife refused to wear a saree of her husband's choice, leading to daily arguments.

Kurkure, a spicy and crunchy puffcorn snack available in various flavors, was launched in India in 1999 by PepsiCo. It is also a popular snack in Pakistan. In 2018, PepsiCo announced plans to reduce the salt content in Kurkure.

In India, Kurkure is available in four flavors: Masala Munch, Kurkure Playz Puffcorn Yummy Cheez, Chilli Chatka, and Naughty Tomato. Over the years, top Bollywood actors such as Juhi Chawla, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Sara Ali Khan have appeared in Kurkure commercials.

In 2015, Kurkure was one of the packaged snacks subjected to laboratory tests by food safety authorities in Delhi.
