After the rain, comes the foam, cars wade through toxic froth in Bellandur
Heavy rains churned up the highly polluted Bellandur and Yemlur lakes leading to a toxic spill on to the roads
The agony for Bellandur residents returns every time the city witnesses heavy rainfall. On Wednesday night toxic froth from the heavily polluted lake formed mountains of foam on the road making commute difficult. The sight of cars trying to wade through the mountains of pollutants was unbelievable.

Through the heap of toxins
heavy rains that have been lashing the city for three days now have churned up the polluted lakes. Toxins are flowing into people's faces and collecting on the road forming a mountain of sorts. Cars were seen struggling to wade through the toxic foams.

A commuter's nightmare
The froth from the Bellandur lake flies into people's faces causing them irritation, itchiness and infections. On Wednesday, however, it was a different scene. The foam that collected on the main road caused traffic snarls. The thought of driving into the heap of toxins was a nightmare for the drivers.

Where are the people's representatives?
While people were struggling through heaps of toxins to get back home in Bellandur, the ruling party in Karnataka, the Congress was resting after a busy day of Indira canteen inauguration. The feeble fence that was erected last year to contain the foam was rendered helpless, much like the politicians who have failed miserably to save the lake and the people from the lake's fury.

One rain and the story continues
Rains scare the residents of Yemlur, Varthur and Bellandur. They know what to expect after heavy rains in the region. What they wake up to is toxic foam flying into their houses and faces. Incidentally, the residents celebrated Kere habba, a festival where they pledged to save the lake.

Bellandur's nightmare continues
On Thursday morning, the situation was no better. The entire stretch of the lake and its outlets were covered with thick white foam churned up by the heavy rains. The stench is unbearable and the sight an eyesore.
