Pakistan which faced a fierce retaliation sought for talks with India. It appears that Pakistan wants to de-escalate tensions along the border. Earlier in the day Pakistan confirmed that Sartaj Aziz, who functions as Pakistan's Foreign Minister, will attend a regional conference in Amritsar early next month.

Earlier a massive offensive had been launched along the Line of Control by the Indian army today. On Tuesday Pakistan killed three Indian soldiers. One of them was beheaded in the most brutal fashion.
The Indian army had said that the retribution would be strong. Today a massive counter offensive was launched along the entire Line of Control in Poonacha, Machil and Rajouri.

Pakistan has resorted to brutality for the second time in three weeks. While on Tuesday a soldier was beheaded two others were killed, three weeks back Sepoy Mandeep Singh had been beheaded. The three soldiers who were on patrol at the Machil sector were killed by the Border Action Team of the Pakistan army.
