Another Shocker: After Maggi, now milk, mineral water in trouble

Mumbai, July 16: Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Maharashtra came up with a shocking news. After Maggi, Glucon D, Capsule tablets and many more products, now people might be barred from drinking milk and mineral water.

FDA conducted raids at several places across Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai and found three cases in which normal water was being chilled and sold as mineral water to customers.

The FDA officials also found some instances in which water and starch were used to adulterate milk in Mumbai.

While speaking about the controversy, FDA minister Girish Bapat admitted that some units were bottling packaged water without necessary permissions.

Samples of milk and mineral water have been collected from several places in Mumbai. The FDA seized 931.5 liters of milk in Mumbai in May 2015 and also conducted a drive against milk adulteration in Thane, Satara and Sangli districts.
