After Gandhi’s Satyagraha, PM Modi’s Swachhagraha

As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a leaf out of Mahatma Gandhi's book.

On the lines of Gandhi's Satyagraha that freed the country from the British rule, PM Modi has launched Swachhagraha to make India free from filth. Like the Satyagrahis (soldiers who fought against British regime by non-violent means) who gave us freedom, Modi wants Swachhagrahis (soldiers to launch crusade against filth and refuse) to make India clean and green.

Modi shared his vision on Swachhagraha while inaugurating the India Sanitation Conference at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi on Friday.

"Only budget allocations cannot further cleanliness. Like... 'Satyagraha' that freed us from the British, today there is need for 'Swachhagraha' to make India free from filth," said Modi, calling upon "Swachhagrahis" to launch crusade against filth and refuse. Emphasising on the concepts of reuse and recycle, he said, "We need to create wealth from waste."
