After Alwar incident, three men transporting buffaloes attacked in Delhi

Five persons, including a nine-year-old girl, were injured after cow vigilantes attacked a nomad family in Talwara area of Jammu and Kashmir while moving with their livestock.

Three men were attacked by 15 men on Saturday late night in Kalkaji area of South East Delhi over suspicion of cattle smuggling.

The victims who were all in twenties have been identified as Rizwan (25), Ashu(28) and Kamil (25). They have received injuries on face and lips and have been shifted to AIIMS hospital.

It is leanrt that the police control room in Delhi received a call from animal welfare activists, reportedly from an organisation named People For Animals, about a truck that was allegedly transporting animals illegally. On reaching the spot, the police discovered that the three men had been beaten up.

However, upon questioning it was revealed that the three were on their way to sell the buffaloes at the Ghazipur Mandi in East Delhi and that they had proper license and paperwork.

However, the PFA denied any association with the incident. "We have no PFA unit in Delhi. We have 10,000 volunteers across the country. Whoever acted did so in his individual capacity," Maneka Gandhi's office said.
