After a decade, Pakistani sisters released from Amritsar jail

Two Pakistani sisters Fatima and Mumtaz were arrested along with their mother for smuggling narcotics into India in 2006. Their mother died in the prison in 2008.

After spending over 10 years in jail, three Pakistani nationals, including a minor girl, were released on Thursday.

Fatima, her 11-year-old daughter Hina and Fatima's Mumtaz are the released Pakistani nationals.

Two Pakistani sisters Fatima and Mumtaz were arrested along with their mother for smuggling narcotics into India in 2006. Their mother died in the prison in 2008.

Fatima was pregnant when she was taken into custody and gave birth to her daughter Hina in Amritsar jail.

Fatima thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for paying special attention to their case.
"We thank him and salute India," Fatima said after the beign released from the jail.
