Aditya Srivastava, an IPS trainee at the National Police Academy (NPA), has achieved the pinnacle of success in the civil services examination 2023 by securing the first rank, a feat announced today by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This accomplishment marks the realization of a long-cherished dream for Srivastava, who has always aspired to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

Despite currently undergoing training at NPA, Srivastava's determination to pursue his IAS dream remained unwavering. He shared that his journey towards this goal began early, influenced by the cultural tradition in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar that encourages youth to aim for civil services. His academic path took him from completing a BTech in electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, to obtaining an MTech degree, showcasing his dedication and diverse skill set.

Srivastava chose electrical engineering as his optional subject for the UPSC exam, a decision underpinned by his academic background. He attributes his success to a blend of consistent hard work and strategic preparation, including a thorough analysis of previous years' questions and maintaining self-motivation throughout his journey.

The 27-year-old hails from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where he grew up in a supportive family environment. His father is a government servant and his mother, a homemaker. Srivastava emphasizes that without his parents' support, achieving the top rank in one of the country's most challenging examinations would not have been possible.

This achievement not only highlights Srivastava's personal dedication and hard work but also serves as an inspiration to many aspiring civil servants across India. It underscores the importance of perseverance, strategic preparation, and family support in overcoming the challenges posed by competitive examinations like the UPSC.
