The couple met on the stage during a protest in January 2020 against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), widely criticised as a discriminatory law that makes religion a factor for nationality and seeks to fast-track citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan before 2015.

"Sometimes you search far and wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart Fahad Zirar Ahmad It's chaotic but it's yours!" Bhasker captioned a video featuring her husband.

Retweeting the 34-year-old actor's post, Ahmad, 31, wrote: "I never knew chaos can be so beautiful. Thank you for holding my hand love Swara."

Swara Bhaskar has worked in both mainstream Bollywood movies and independent films.

Bhaskar made her debut in Bollywood with the film "Madholal Keep Walking" in 2009, but it was her performance in the movie "Tanu Weds Manu" (2011) that brought her wider recognition. She has since acted in a number of critically acclaimed films, including "Raanjhanaa" (2013), "Nil Battey Sannata" (2016), and "Anaarkali of Aarah" (2017).

Apart from her work in films, Bhaskar is also known for her activism and outspoken views on social and political issues. She is known for her controversial stands and ill-informed remarks over various issues such as the Citizenship Amendment Act and the JNU protests, and has spoken out in support of women's rights and gender equality.

Who is Fahad Ahmad?

Fahad Ahmad is the state president of Samajwadi Party's youth wing -- Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha.

He graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and completed his M.Phil in social work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

Fahad is four years junior to Swara Bhasker going by their date of birth.

Fahad is an activist who participated in the anti-CAA protests across the country where the couple met for the first time.
